Cable penetrations for corrugated tubes

Segmental ring seal insert CAVO-IN

Penetration for corrugated cable conduits with smooth or corrugated internal wall

Two-component construction
  • Inner molded part made of medium-hard EPDM elastomer
  • Segmental ring insert made of extremely soft thermoset elastomer
  • Flange pressure plates made of stainless steel V2A / AISI 304
  • Screws made of stainless steel V2A / AISI 304
  • Split version
Our CAVO-IN series for thin-walled, corrugated cable conduits sensitive to pressure is based on medium-hard EPDM inner molded parts: they transfer the compressing forces of the stainless steel pressure flanges to the extremely soft segmental ring inserts on the inside and the extremely soft cover rings on the outside. By visually inspecting the assembly of the seal inserts (forming of a bulge), forces can be exerted on the internal walls of the corrugated pipes in a careful and controlling manner.

Due to the layered ring technology, the seal inserts can be adapted to the cable diameters on-site by simply detaching the relevant segmental rings. Possible cable ovalities are smoothly levelled out by the extreme softness of the thermoset elastomer segmental rings.

Our CAVO-IN seal insert is made for standard corrugated cable conduits and can be adapted to further cable conduit inside diameters within short delivery times. The seal inserts are produced in split versions, their outside ring furnished with a special and secure fastening technique.

CAVO-IN BV

Blind plug for corrugated cable conduits with smooth or corrugated internal wall

Two-component construction
  • Core made of medium-hard EPDM elastomer
  • Cover seal ring made of extremely soft thermoset elastomer
  • Wing nut made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide with brass threaded bush
  • Flange pressure plates made of stainless steel V2A / AISI 304
  • Screws made of stainless steel V2A / AISI 304
Due to this combination and layout of materials, moderate pressures are exerted on the cable conduit and cable deformations can be prevented.

The use of assembly tools (screw wrench or torque wrench) is not necessary. Tightening the wing screw will exert the necessary pressure force. A visual inspection will make sure that the seal insert is sitting correctly – a red bulge will appear between the internal wall of the cable conduit and the flange pressure plate.
